Ashley, a Florida native, has spent her career serving North Carolina local government communities through Human Resources. She is currently the Assistant Human Resources Director for the Town of Cary, which is in the heart of North Carolina, is one of the fastest growing cities in the south and is continually ranked one of the best places to live and work in the US. Ashley is an organizational change agent and is reimagining traditional Human Resources work to strategically uphold Cary’s cultural philosophy, values and objectives. Ashley previously served as Cary’s Senior Human Resources Manager, focused on total employee health and well-being.
Before joining Cary in 2018, Ashley worked in Wake County N.C., City of Asheville, N.C. and Chatham County, N.C. Her experience in small, medium and large governments, affords her the opportunity to understand unique organizational challenges and the ability to think differently, reflecting on processes and resources, and identify and implement strategic initiatives.
Ashley holds both a Master in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Romance Languages from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has completed the Senior Executive Institute at the Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service at the University of Virginia; Leading for Results Local Government Fellows Program from the University of North Carolina School of Government; and Leadership Coaching for Organizational Performance. Ashley is also a certified Corporate Wellness Specialist.
